Terry Sewell has an extensive investigative background: Sewell has a BS in Criminal Justice, and an MS in Criminal Justice and Education. He had a perfect 4.0 grade average and joined Phi Kappa Phi. He spent over 20 years in law enforcement, most of it with the Flagstaff Police Department, where he rose through the ranks to Lieutenant. He has extensive experience in computers, management issues, including sexual harassment, and traffic accident reconstruction. He has attended accident reconstruction courses from the Arizona State University College of Engineering, Dynamic Sciences Crash Research Laboratory, and related training on driver impairment/reaction time-DWI Enforcement from Northwestern University with continuous follow up training from SATAI (Southwest Association of Technical Accident Investigators). Sewell also has extensive loss control experience in the insurance industry, and for business and government.
Professional memberships: National Association of Certified Investigators (NACI), American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), Southwest Association of Technical Accident Investigators (SATAI), Arizona Association of Licensed Private Investigators (AALPI), Fraud Defense Network (FDN), National Association of Investigative Specialists (NAIS), and the International Police Association (IPA). He is a former member of the Arizona Chiefs of Police Association, and the Association of Public Safety Communications Officers (APCO). He served on the statewide committee that set up the first statewide automated fingerprint system (AFIS). Sewell was a charter and founding member of the Northern Arizona Chapter of ASIS, and under his leadership, as president, the chapter was awarded the coveted I.B. Hale national award for 'Chapter of the Year'.
