Services Employee Profile Terry Sewell has a BS in Criminal Justice, and an MS in criminal justice and Education. He obtained his MS with a perfect 4.0 grade average, and was invited to join the Phi Kappa Phi honorary society. He has over 20 years police experience, rising through the ranks at the Flagstaff Police Department, where he retired as a lieutenant in 1994. He developed two three year automation plans, and led their implementation, taking the department from a state of almost no automation, to complete automation, including records management, computer aided dispatch, laptop reporting, and mobile data in each squad car. Sewell received the Flagstaff Police Departments award for 'Meritorious Service', one of less than a dozen officers to ever receive this award. Sewell has extensive experience in management issues, including sexual harassment policy development and enforcement. he can provide consulting and expert testimony on such matters. Sewell has specialized in traffic accident reconstruction since attending accident reconstruction training at the Arizona State University College of Engineering in 1978, where he was salutatorian of his class. In 1979 he attended accident reconstruction training at Dynamic Sciences Crash Research Laboratory. Since then he has received additional training, including a related course from Northwestern University on driver impairment and reaction time-DWI Enforcement, and regular seminars sponsored by the Southwest Association of Technical Accident Investigators. Sewell has extensive loss control (risk management) experience for insurance, business, and government. Sewell was a charter and founding member of the Northern Arizona Chapter of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), and under his leadership as Chairman, the chapter was awarded the national I.B. Hale award for 'Chapter of the Year'.
